  • In 2016, Ohio State had six players drafted in the MLB First-Year Player draft. It was the most players drafted since six Buckeyes players were drafted in 1994.
  • Ronnie Dawson, taken with the 61st overall pick and 20th of the second round by the Houston Astros, was the highest Buckeye drafted since Alex Wimmers was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in 2010 with the 21st overall pick.

  • In his last game out against Eastern Michigan, freshman right fielder Dominic Canzone saw his 10-game hitting streak come to an end with a 0-for-4 performance; Canzone’s 10-game hitting streak was the longest by any Buckeye this season
  • Friday night’s starter for OSU, Yianni Pavlopoulos, is one of only two pitchers in college baseball to post a victory against No. 1 Oregon State
  • Sophomore Ryan Feltner made his first relief appearance of the season last Saturday against Penn State after making all seven of his past appearances as a starter (he delivered three hitless, shutout innings of work with two walks and two strikeouts)
  • Redshirt senior starting pitcher Jake Post is just 6.2 innings away from setting a new career-high in innings pitched in a season. His single-game high in innings-pitched this season is six.
